I could be wrong but, I believe I read somewhere that the first-ever WC2 map editor was a mod/hack released by a fan, which Blizzard decided was cool and made it a default feature (with some improvements and balance fixes) when they re-released the game for Windows on CDĮither way, it does not make much sense for somebody to specify using the map editor on “3.5in floppy disks” lol… I know for a fact the wc2 editor was updated over the course of a few years and the best version available was certainly not on the original disk, it was a download because they kept adding more features to it, balancing mods and fixing hacks… and then they Re-re-released the game a 3rd time in 1998 called the Battle. World in Flames began as a map made by another user of The Hive Workshop. However, it was not us - the current team of me and Fingolfin who originally started it off. World in Flames is a non-profit hobby project that has been going for over three years first started on the Warcraft 3 modding site. There are enough issues with the MacOS port of Warcraft III itself, in no short part due to Apple forcing the use of Metal so forcing a set of potential parallel bugs just for their platform. The team behind Reforged did a fantastic job fixing and improving it but still it might not have been enough to make a MacOS port within reach. In the nearest future we are planning to create Heroes and find some ways to input role model in to the game. Weve just started to have deal with this engine, so we got not so many things to show yet. Since they used Windows internally, it was only really made to support Windows. Thats why weve decided to work on our favorite part - Warcraft 2 - and we are planning to add some cool staff. It was made as a tool for internal use that they kindly gave out to normal users. But the issue was that World Editor was never really designed to be portable, reliable, e.t.c. And now, a return to form - a mod for Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne Warcraft 3 Extended Edition is a project with the goal of expanding the existing game by adding unused features from the campagin as well as by adding new content of the highest possible quality while trying to keep the game as balanced as it can be. Beside, we provide skin, campagin, new ui and other useful feature. Would there ever be a future where a world editor like WARACRAFT III could be made for MACS?
